On March 27, 2019, Copenhagen Business School held a round table on the theme «Politics of memory: the Scandinavian experience of dealing with historical heritage». The organizers, taking all the costs of travel and accommodation of the participants, gathered a wide range of participants from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Belarus and Russia.|
The researchers discussed the history of the Scandinavian countries of the XIX–XX century and the theory and practice of commemoration. St. Petersburg University was presented at the round table by Professor V. N. Baryshnikov with a report «Comparative analysis of the ideological impact of Germany and the USSR on Finland in 1920–1930-s» and graduate student N. Kozlov with a report «The Schleswig-Holstein crisis of 1863–1864 and its reflection in the Russian and British press: the difference of perception». The fruitful results of the round table prompted the organizers to think about holding this event on a regular basis.
